Administrative Record Keeping Tasks

  • Request, review, and analyze year-end company data to sort participant eligibility into the plan to accumulate retirement savings.
  • Calculate year-end contributions for various ERISA Plans within the limitations of IRS regulations Section 415 and Section 404
  • Perform ADP/ACP testing, 40l(k), and 40l(m) discrimination testing.
  • Perform top-heavy testing as per IRC Section 416
  • Perform Combination Plans Testing within the IRS deductibility limits to achieve the short-term and long-term retirement objective of the client
  • Coordinate with accountants, recordkeeper platforms, and financial advisors for tax saving strategies and management of retirement savings.
  • Prepare accounting reports for employers and employees to track their yearly savings and vested balances.
  • Prepare 5500 forms, which are filed with the IRS with access to the DOL.
  • Preparation of Defined Benefit Plan Actuarial Valuations, Schedule SB, AFTAP Certification, etc. for Actuarial review to determine the financial position at any given time along with the sustainability of the financial goals until retirement

Plan Document, Reporting and Disclosure Tasks

  • Receive IRS approval for the implementation of standardized and unique retirement designs.
  • Prepare plan documents that define the provisions elected by the company owner considering the business model and retirement needs of the company within the IRS regulations.
  • Prepare yearly IRS Compliance documents required to be distributed to all plan participants:
    • Disclosure
    • Safe Habor Annual
    • Salary Deferral Agreements
    • Summary of Plan Description (SPD)
    • Summary annual report (SAR)
  • Periodically review existing plan provisions and recommend changes to meet the employer’s goals and objectives
  • Preparation and submission of 5500 Forms, 5500EZ or 5500SF as applicable for profit sharing and Defined Benefit Plans to the IRS yearly

Distributions and Loans

  • Calculation of vested employer benefits, maximum loan amounts, early retirement benefit if available and vested benefits at termination of employment
  • Prepare documentation to withdraw applicable benefits such as loan and amortization schedule, hardship, early retirement, in-service or termination of employment
  • Calculation of Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) for the eligible participant
  • Prepare and e-file 1099 forms for the plan distribution unless prepared by the recordkeeper or financial Investment Institution

Additional Services

  • Help entities determine PBGC coverage.
  • Prepare and file PBGC reports and premium filing on behalf of the client.
  • Preparation of FASB reports for the company, if required
  • Help auditors with financial data and reconciliation of assets to create an audit report required for pension plans with more than 100 participants.
  • Prepare Plan amendments, plan mergers, plan take over, and termination of pension plan documents
